WHERE IS HOME FOR YOU?
Uluwatu, Bali, Indonesia and Munich, Germany.
HOW DID YOU START SURFING AND WHERE?
I started surfing around 10 years ago in Bali. My passion for surfing grew from there. The years after we started travelling to a lot of surf destinations around the world. Constantly adapting to different conditions helped me to improve my surfing skills pretty fast.
WHAT’S YOUR ALL-TIME FAVORITE WAVE/SPOT?
I enjoy Racetrack (Uluwatu) at Mid or Low Tide most. Also Seven Palm in the Mentawais and Nembrala in Rote are fun waves.
WHAT’S SOMETHING ABOUT SURFING YOU WISH YOU KNEW 10 YEARS AGO?
Surfing is a feel good sport. So you don’t want to lose that.
WHAT IS YOUR NUMBER ONE SURFING DESTINATION YOU STILL NEED TO VISIT?
I guess my number one is and will forever be the Indonesian archipelago. We travelled to many islands and spots within the last years, but there are still some unknown ones left.
HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR DOWNTIME IN BETWEEN SURFING?
I’m living a pretty active and healthy lifestyle. My overall happiness and well-being is at its best when I’m catching some waves, getting on my Yoga mat and having some healthy food with friends and family.
WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE FASTFOOD?
I’m a health food junkie. I have learnt that I feel so much better when I eat clean foods. Due to celiac disease and a vegan diet, there aren’t many Fastfood options for me though.
WHATS YOUR UNIQUE SKILL?
Walking out to the line up at Low Tide with Flip Flops, so my feet won’t hurt. Not sure if this is a skill or lifehack. I just never saw anybody else doing this. ;-)
