Construction

PU Construction

Based on polyurethane foam, bonded to a plywood stringer with a 6/4+6 oz polyester glassing. The classic in ocean surfboard construction, resulting in a great mix of performance and durability.

Shaped by Spider Murphy

Shaped and designed by the south african shapers legend Spider Murphy, drawing on more than 55 years of shaping experience. Having crafted boards for several world champions and played an active role in the evolution of modern surfboard design, Spider brings a rare level of expertise and insight to the range.

Egg Shape – Playful Summer Wave Groveler & great for weaker rapids

Low entry rocker, wide nose and loads of planning surface guarantee fun in smaller waves. However the outline with the slight tapering towards the squash tail keeps it quick and agile on the back foot. No need to change your board once the swell picks up. Thanks to the thin rails and Spider Murphy’s unique rail work the Eggplant also feels comfortable in more powerful waves and higher speeds. The bottom is shaped with a single to double concave, finishing with a slight vee towards the tail, helping to initiate your turns. A touch of vee in the nose saves your paddle energy.

RIVER – The shape also works perfect as river board on river waves, especially on weaker ones.

To put it in an Egg Shell – this thing is a must have in your quiver. No matter if it is your performing summer groveler or your first approach to a shorter board.
