HOW TO UNBOX YOUR SURFBOARD

ESSENTIAL TIPS FOR RECEIVING AND UNBOXING YOUR SURFBOARDS SAFELY

Receiving a brandnew surfboard from the courier is definitely one of the most exciting deliveries we've ever received as surfers. So it goes without saying that the anticipation is immense when the doorbell suddenly rings.

We prepare your surfboard with the greatest possible care and are specialists in surfboard shipping. Nevertheless, we have no direct influence on the delivery provider who will arrive at your door. Therefore, here are a few important steps that you should definitely follow when receiving your surfboard to ensure that everything proceeds smoothly.

With your help, we can ensure that you receive your ideal surfboard in no time.

1. CHECK THE PACKAGING FOR DAMAGES

When receiving your package start by examining the outer packaging for signs of damage, such as tears, dents, or punctures before accepting your package.

These could indicate mishandling during shipping, which may have affected the surfboard inside and will help us fill a claim with the shipment provider in case of damage.

PLEASE REMEMBER: Adressing any surfboard damage and providing a fast solution is easy, but it’s crucial that we can trace damage back to the delivery company when it occurs.

2. IF THE PACKAGING IS DAMAGED CHECK YOUR BOARD

Carefully open the package and inspect the surfboard itself while the courier is still present.

Yes, couriers are often in a hurry—we know the drill. But if the packaging on your surfboard is damaged, it’s their responsibility to give you time to inspect your surfboard and ensure it’s intact.

Look for any cracks, dings, or other signs of damage that could compromise the board’s performance. Pay particular attention to the rails, nose, tail, and fins, as these are common areas where damage can occur in the shipment process.

3A. IF YOUR BOARD SHOULD REALLY BE DAMAGED...

If you notice any damage or missing parts, it is important to refuse the package immediately.

Notify the delivery person of any issues, document the surfboard damage with photos, and record the refusal on the delivery receipt. This safeguards you from responsibility for the damage and ensures a faster resolution with the shipping company.

The courier is required to take back the package if you refuse it, even if they suggest otherwise. Simply inform us, and we’ll send a replacement surfboard right away and handle the claim process for you.

Promise, this works way faster and easier than you might expect.

3B. ENJOY YOUR NEW KANOA BOARD

If your board arrived in perfect condition, enjoy the surf!

Side note: Shipping damages are rare, but surfboards are fragile, and potential damages caused by shipping providers cannot be completely avoided and are out of our direct control.

We do our best to package our boards securely and carefully to ensure they arrive to you in perfect condition. Please follow the steps above to ensure those cases are resolved in no time and without any effort from your side.
