Artificial static waves have rather steep faces with high power and pressure. That's why it is possible to surf shorter boards with narrow tail shapes. The rocker can be a bit higher and therefore allow a more ocean-inspired surf approach as well as easier turn initiation.

Examples for artificial waves are the Unit Parktech wave in Langenfeld, Exo38 or the Wakeparadise Milano. Another Wavepool concept is the Citywave, which powers the Jochen Schweizer Arena Munich, RheinRiff in Düsseldorf, Wellenwerk Berlin, Irie Surf in Freiburg, the Oana Wave in Luzern, Urbansurf in Zurich, Multiplex Citywave Vienna and the Hasewelle in Osnabrück – and even spots in Israel, Moscow, Madrid, Tokyo and Hawaii.

The mother of all stationary waves! The Eisbach (E1) is a rather powerful wave with a unique shape. It requires a slightly wider outline and a lower tail rocker than the artificial waves. Especially as it has some weaker days in summer.

Other strong natural waves include The Riverwave in Austria near Ebensee, Wave 2 at Kanupark (Markleeberg), as well as Dreamwave Technology waves such as Fuchslochwelle (Nuremberg), Leinewelle (Hannover) and Surfwelle Augsburg. The board choice for these waves is comparable to Eisbach – although when those rapids have some weaker days, bigger boards are more fun.

Go for The Creek 4.0 as an all-round riverboard, the Swallow Creek Pro and The Creek Pro for advanced riders. The Moby Creek EPX is great for heavier surfers or weaker summer days. Foamy Flow X for all of those who are tired of fixing boards and want more performance than any other soft board.

Extra durable River Softboard – flowing between speed & stability

Weaker river waves require different shapes for rapid surfing. The riverboard of your choice should have a wide tail, more volume, and a flatter rockerline. While usually shorter, depending on the wave it can also be ridden slightly longer.

With the right surfboard the lower water pressure can be compensated to provide the necessary flow and speed.

The described wave characteristics can be found on the Bremgarten Wave or Thun (in summer) in Switzerland or the E2 in Munich – here we recommend our Fishs. The most performing river softtop is suitable for fast progression and also enables tricks and manoeuvres. It is therefore a great choice for all beginners but also advanced surfers who are looking to try new tricks or favor a bit more stability from time to time. The stiffness created through the aluminum stringer provides response and drive. This board is also a great choice for concrete wall waves and short transitions, as it offers unmatched durability.
