FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I have to wax my foamy?

Yes, you should! Just like a hardboard, our foamies feature a smooth surface and should be waxed to ensure optimal grip and enhanced performance.

Use a tropical base coat and a top coat that matches the water temperature for optimal and long lasting stick. Check out our Wax Collection to find the right one.

Which  Fins do i need for my fin box system?

There are three different fin box systems: FCS1, FCS2 (double tab) and FUTURES (single tab). Choose your fins according to the system you picked for your surfboard.

The Foamy X comes with interchangeable fin boxes, so you can easily switch or replace the system and fins anytime. Check out our fin guide to find the perfect fin set for your board and surf-level.

How do i attach my leash?

If the leash rope is not knoted yet, fold it in half and knot the two ends together.

The Rail Saver is the end of your leash that does not belong on your foot. This is designed with several Velcro fasteners so that the leash can not tear loose in the water.

To attach the Railsaver, open all Velcro fasteners until the Railsaver lies in front of you like an unfolded book. Now you tie it around the knot of your Leash Rope, so that this is hidden in the Rail Saver.

Then make sure that you close all Velcro fasteners properly and do not overlap anything, so that the leash can not open in any case.

Check out our How-to Guide for a step by step explanation and video.

How do i install my tailpad?

Because our new foamys come with x-changable fin boxes you have to pay attention to the drop through screws.

Read our step by step guide to easily and securely attach your tailpad to your new Foamy X.

How do i exchange my fin box?

In order to change your finbox, you have to take out your drop through screws. You can just use a 2€ coin to screw them out and put them on the side for later.

Make sure, to use the right length of the screws for the right thread, when putting them in again. The screws that cover the pad of your foamy X should be a bit longer in order to go all the way through.

Exchange the finboxes and screw the screws back in with the coin.

How does the valve of my foamy work and what is it for?

Our Foamys are made of flexible Vinyl skin that is not fully attached to the core to ensure air and water flow.

It is the secret to the foamys durability.

A separate layer around the blank makes sure that the core will never take any water.

The included air vent and drain screw will allow any air or water to get out easily.

What can I do if I have air pressure / Bubbles in my board?

The flexible vinyl skin of our foamys is a key feature of their durability. Wrinkles or small air bumps on the vinyl surface are completely normal. The vinyl skin isn’t fully bonded to the core, allowing the board to adapt to temperature changes and stay resistant to damage.

If small air pockets form under the surface, don’t worry - the valve on top of your board automatically releases air to balance pressure. Just make sure no wax covers the valve and clear any sand or dirt gently to keep airflow open. If the valve gets stuck, you can clean it carefully with a small stick or open the drain screw on the back of your board to release excess air pressure manually. If air is still stuck leave the drain screw open for a little longer and use a flat object to gently push the air out.

how do i fix a ding in my foamy x?

In case of a small damage or cut, you can easily repair the vinyl skin with a simple vinyl sticker.

The Foamy X Repair Kit has everything you need to fix your Foamy X. It is easier and quicker than fixing a tire on your bike.
